Ans : - In the poem , the poet describes what he sees as he stands on the Westminster bridge looking out at the great city of London . The poem takes place in the beauty of the morning which lies like a blanket over the silent city . Everything in the city is glittering in the smokeless air . Therefore the Westminster bridge , by itself , stands like a bridge or link between the physical beauty of the London city and the poets artists entity . The title clearly indicates the time and place of such a wonderful experience . So it is appropriate . 

2 ) "The beauty of the morning silent , bare " -What beauty is spoken about here ? Why is it called silent and  bare?


 Ans : -The calm and open stretch of London city in the early morning is the beauty spoken about here . 

This beauty is silent because it is very early in the morning , and the whole city is at rest , the busy city life is yet to resume . Everywhere there is a peaceful silence.

 It is ' bare because of the smokeless air of the morning . The architectural splendor like ships towers , domes , temples etc all are glittering brightly .

Ans - Wordsworth is moved by the natural beauty of London as seen from the Westminster bridge in the early morning . It seems as if the city of London has clothes itself in the beauty of morning Ships , towers , domes , theaters and temples are glittering brightly in the smokeless air.  Ans : -in the opening line of the poem the poet demands that nothing can be more beautiful than London in the early morning sunshine . He establishes the word fair by his description of London at that time .. It seems as if the city of London has clothes itself in the beauty of morning Ship towers , domes , theaters and temples are glittering brightly in the smokeless air . Valley , rocks ,  hills everything looks so splendid . According to the poet even nature falls to rival the fair cities t this time of the day .

Finally Desdemona resolved to marry only him against all odds . 

2 ) Describe the character of Desdemona .

 Ans : - Desdemona is one of the important character in the play ' Othello ' . the daughter of a rich senator of Venice named Brabantio . She was a fair and beautiful Joung lady and dream of so many handsome young man . She is also the wife of Othello , She proves to be quiet devoted to her husband Her relationship with Cassio had been presented as a profile in friendship , concern and sincerity . The pathetic end of her life really evokes a sense of pity and gloom .

Ans : In Shakespeare's play Othello he is the main character of the play . He was a military general . He was promoted from soldier to the rank of general . He made an impact on Desdemona's heart . Othello and Desdemona loved each other very much . lago tried to break their relationship . Othello was very simple and could not understand lago's motive . He mistook Desdemona's pleading for Casio as her love for him . Because he had seen Desdemona's handkerchief in lago's hand . He killed his wife . After he understood his mistake and finished himself . 

** 4 ) Discuss the activities and nature of lago .

 Or , Sketch how lago has been characterised in Othello . 

Ans : lago pays a significant role in the play Othello . He is an officer and also clever . He is trusted by Othello but he shows seeds of jealousy in the mind of Othelo . He is a Hateable villain plays his games well . He makes Othello so desperate that he orders the death of Cassio . He himself murdered his wife . At the end he meets truth and death as a punishment for his crimes .

Ans : - When Macbeth and Banquo were returning from the battlefield they met three witches . The first witch addressed Macbeth as The Thane of Glamis ' , but the second called him the Thane of Cawdor ' , and the third witch told him " you will be the king of Scotland here after . " They aso told that Bamquo would never be a king but his successor would be the kings . Saying these the witches turned in to the thin air and vanished . The witches play a very important role in " Macbeth " . 

**( 2 ) What was the mystery behind the moving of Birnam woods ? 

Ans : - Malcolm the clever general instructed to his soldiers to cut down a large branches of a tree and bear it when the army was advancing towards the Macbeth's castle through the Birnam woods . He could hide the actual numbers of soldiers attacking Macbeth's castle . The soldiers with brough in their hands appeared as if the Birnam wood was moving . Macbeth lost confidence when he saw that the Birnam wood was moving .

**( 3 ) Why could not Lady Macbeth murder the king ?

 Ans : The king was very tired and went early to bed in the castle of Macbeth .. Lady Macbeth entered into the chamber of the King with a dagger . Seeing earnestly the sleeping face of the King Duncan , she noticed an unbelievable similarity with her father . For that she could not get enough courgh at heart to murder the king .

*(4) Sketch the Character of Macbeth .

Or,  Consider Macbeth as a tragic hero . 

Ans : - Macbeth was the Scottish General and a near kinsman to the king . He is the main character in the play . He is ambitious . As once he respected and honoured by the king and the peope . But later he turned into a villain . He murdered the king and his friend Banquo . He is left alone.But Macbeth could not be called to be a murderer politician .If Lady Macbeth did not insist him on murdering the king , Macbeth would not proceed further .

 Or , What role did Lady Macbeth play in the murder of Duncan ? 

Or , How much was Lady Macbeth responsible for Macbeth's downfall ? 

Ans : - Lady Macbeth is ambitious woman . She plays a significant role in the play She makes the plan to murder the king Duncan . Later she pushes her husband into committing the murder the king . She insists her husband to murder Banquo and plan to eliminate Banquio's son . Later she can't bear the strain of self guilt for long . She can't sleep and then she walks in sleep . She then commits suicide . 

***(6) Why did Macbeth went to murder Banquo and his sons? How was Banquo murdered?

Ans:- Macbeth went to murder Banquo and his sons because he could not forget the prophecy of the witches, that Banquo's sons should be kings after him. But he wanted that his own son will be king after him.

Macbeth engaged murderers to kill Banquo and his sons on the way that night. Banquo was murdered by them but his son Fleance escaped.

Ans . When Mother Teresa came to visit an Old age Home in Calcutta , Mother saw that sons and daughters of those old people had put their parents in the home and forgot them . All the parents were looking towards the door  for their daughters and sons  to come and visit them , but they became disappointed to  finding none of them . Even all of them forgot to smile  . Looking towards the door , they were counting their remaining days in the earth with a single hope if their sons or daughters  could find time for once only to meet them . But that never happened .

4) ‘I had the most extraordinary experience with the Hindu family that had eight children.’ – Which experience is Mother Teresa speaking of? [5] 

Ans:- Mother had an extraordinary experience with a Hindu family which had eight children. Once a gentleman came to Mother Teresa in Calcutta and requested her to help the poor Hindu family who had been starving for few days. Mother immediately ran there with some rice. The mother of the starving children took the rice, divided it and went out. After her return,  Mother asked her why he had gone out. The Lady told Mother that she went out to share the rice with a neighboring Muslim family who had been starving for many days.

Ans:- According to Mother Teresa, The poor people are very great people.  The poor people could recognize the importance of family planning. The poor people may not have any home, may not have food or shelter, yet they are very simple, very pure in hearts. For example,  once Mother picked up four persons from drain. One of them was very critical condition.  But she had died without blaming others, without cursing anybody.  She said that she had lived a life of an animal but was going to die like an Angel.

Ans:- According to Mother,  the greatest destroyer of peace today in the world is abortion. To control the problem Mother appealed everywhere in India. The unborn children,  without getting the love of their mother, are murdered directly by abortion. 

Mother appealed the unwilling mothers not to kill there unwanted child. Mother said that she would take care of them and take the children from them. She requested every clinic,  hospital and police station not to kill any child and to give it to her.

3)Narrate the experience Mother Teresa had when there was great difficulty in getting sugar. [5] 

Ans:- Mother Teresa said that once they had to face a lot of difficulty in collecting sugar for their home. One day a little Hindu boy of four years old came to visit her with his parents. The little boy brought some sugar with him for the children of Mother's home. Mother Teresa came to know that the boy refused to eat sugar for three days because he wanted to give the sugar to Mother Teresa. That incident made Teresa really surprised.

 Ans : -Jimmy's suitcase contained the finest set of burglar's tools in the eastern region . It was a complete set , made of specially tempered steel . The set inclueded the latest models of drills , punches , braces and bits , jimmies , clamps , and augers .

 This tool set was something that differentiated Jimmy from other burglars . This had cost him over nine hundred dollars and he took immense pride in owning it . Just as a father gazes fondly at his child , similarly Jimmy gazed fondly at them . 


2. " that's dandy Jim Valentine's autograph . He's resumed business . " - How did Ben Price notice Jimmy Valentine's autograph in the recent burglaries ?

 Ans : -soon after Jimmy's release from jail three daring safe burglaries occurred in three different cities of Richmond . No clue regarding the doer of the mischief was found . All the cases were referred to Ben Price , the police inspector . Ben Price investigated the scenes of burglaries and took detailed notes . He noticed how neatly and efficiently the combination knobs were pulled out . He knows that none but Jimmy could perform such neat acts . Hence there was no doubt that jimmy had resumed his business .

 3. How does 0 Henry establish a contrast between Jimmy Valentine and Ralph D Spencer ? 

Ans : The author 0 Henry establishes a remarkable contrast between two characters of the same person Jimmy Valentine and Ralph D Spencer . 

Jimmy Valentine is a professional safe cracker . He is smart , intelligent . During his operations he takes no confederates and leave no clue behind . He gets a recognition in the underworld and puts a special identity to the police authority .
Ralph D Spencer on the other hand is presented as an established businessman . He lifts himself to the upper class of the society and is ready to marry Annabel very soon . He has completely changed his lifestyle for being a real gentleman.

 Ans : - In his letter Jimmy wrote to his old friend Billy in St. Louis that he wanted to meet him at Sullivan's place in Little Rock , next Wednesday night at 90'clock . Jimmy wanted to make him a present of his safe cracking tools . Jimmy informed to his friend that he had give up his criminal career and started living honesty . 
Jimmy wrote so because he was going to marry a good looking girl within two weeks and decided not to continue his old job any more . After his marriage with Annabel , Jimmy's plan was to sell out everything he had and go west forever.

In a moment Jimmy took off his coat and placed his heavy suitcase on the table . Taking out his tools , one by one , he set them on the table . He began to work silently and swiftly . Within a few minutes he opened the door of the vault and was able to bring the girl back to her mother's lap .
